Alaska Airlines from Everett to Dayton International Airport

Now, prepare yourself for a laugh-and-learn session as we embark on a whimsically enlightening journey on Alaska Airlines. It's interesting! Truly, as a veteran Frequent Flyer on the Everett to Dayton route, I have countless tales to share about cheap flights, last-minute dances with fate (I mean flights), and several anecdotes about the over-enthusiasm of flight attendants while serving their in-flight pretzels (or more accurately, airfare crackers).

Cunning airlines entice customers with their promise of "cheap flights". Alaska Airlines, however, is gauche enough to occasionally deliver on that promise. Not that I'm complaining. What other airline would let you eat your body-weight in stale pretzels for a meager sum?

The most interesting part about taking direct flights from Everett to Dayton is the usual in-flight entertainment. You would normally expect to watch a high-budget blockbuster or listen to a chart-topper, right? Wrong. You get to watch a documentary on a random fact related to the state of Alaska. For instance, did you know that you'd find more than 70 potentially active volcanoes in Alaska? That makes it officially the most exciting place to fly over. If your idea of excitement, like mine, is hurtling through mid-air under the dolorous shadow of a smoking cauldron, that's a volcanic win!

Booking a last-minute flight, the best time to book for the uninitiated, guarantees you a seat between a burly lumberjack returning from his Alaskan expedition and a delightful sweet old lady knitting jumpers for her 14 grandchildren.

Speaking of the most amusing things on one-way flights, there's always a brilliant display of how flexible the human body can be. If you are a connoisseur of economy class airlines, you already know that barely 18 inches separate you from the adventuresome soul in the next seat. By the 6th hour of your flight, you have mastered the art of eating your dinner in a space smaller than the passenger bathroom. Take that, contortionists!

It might seem odd for me to mention the round-trip flight schedule, but it is the hinge on which the story of our merry trip revolves. Daytona celebrates its sunset around the very time the Everett sun wakes from its morning snooze. So by the time your flight lands in Daytona, you will have enjoyed the auspicious sight of two sunrises in a single day! Don’t worry, you'll only be questioned about your sobriety once you inform the folks in Dayton about your double sunrise celebration.

Now, many peppy flyers unassumingly think that their flight duration will be their own time. Oh, the poor souls! If they only knew that flights from Everett to Dayton time-travelled. The announcement declares a departure at 10 am PST, to land around 6 pm EST. But here's the jest, you reach your destination at 3 pm “your standard time”. Eureka, we have time travel!

I do regret to inform you that despite my glowing Frequent Flyer status, I am yet to sample the Business Class delicacies offered by Alaska Airlines on the Everett-Dayton route. So, if you were hoping for the insider scoop on Business Class, my humble Economy Class experiences will have to do.
